Existing Solar Panels and new adjacent developments don't always play nicely, so its important to know what actual impact your neighbours' tall new structure is going to have on your solar production.

This is where Graphica Mapping and Design can step in.

Many planners often need to show the impact a proposed structure may have on a neighbour's property, and in particular, their open space, or in the case of one particular client, the neighbour's solar panels.

A mobile phone tower casts a long thin shadow during the Winter Solstice.

Graphica was engaged by Pro Realty to identify the impact a proposed new mobile phone tower would have on the solar panels of a neighboring property who had raised concerns during public notification.

A 3D model of the mobile phone tower was created using detailed elevations provided by the client and the neighbour's property and solar arrangement was also created. The tower was then placed in its proposed build location and then we were able to assess the impact it would have.

The analysis concluded that the tower would begin to impact the neighbour's solar panels at 11.15am on the Winter Solstice and cease to impact at 12.30pm. This analysis was used by the client to appease the neighbours concerns.
